So it’s a little late in the game, I’m just finished now. Easily one of the best gaming experience I’ve ever had. I would like to share my thoughts about the Dutch ending and personality:
Dutch narcissist. He does not care about anyone else but never does. The Dutch really do not have a plan, it behaves recklessly. He has self-destructive masochistic inclinations and makes decisions that lead and gang into deeper problems. Leviticus Cornwall is attacking against Hosea’s advice because he only wants to cause chaos. It’s always the next big result … but nothing is enough at all, because he doesn’t want to escape the outlaw life, this is who he is, that’s all he knows. In this life, he is a person, who has a gang, people who follow him and feed his ego. He never wanted to take the gang to Australia or Tahiti to settle down, I think he would have had many opportunities to do it if he really wanted. But no, he just wanted to fight the regime, because he believed that he was above all, and he could not lead a normal life, there would be no one.
The Dutch didn’t care about Jack, he didn’t even want to let him and his mother go in chapter 6, and the reason he took revenge on him was Braithwaits because he had to do it in order to save his prestige.
Angelo Bronte is killed, only after Bronte starts talking to him dirty and calls him nonsense. Narcisissts does not gently deal with insults. The Dutchman portrays himself as a Messiah but is just a small criminal, fighting for nothing.
In the end, he moved away from Micah not because he felt sorry for Arthur or because his conscience had improved on him, but because he realized that he had deceived Micah. This hurts his pride. Arthur’s dying sight made him realize that he was actually telling the truth. Note that he is not trying to save Arthur, but rather he walks away and leaves him with Micah, which indicates that he does not care about him.
I’ve read some posts claiming that the Dutch only cooperated with Micah for revenge and that was all part of a master plan, waiting for the right moment to kill him. This is an absolute mistake. The first time I played this scene, Micah was shot immediately and then the Dutch shot John and the match ended. This indicates that it was a spontaneous decision that led the Dutch to kill Micah? why? Not quite sure, it might have just been a tantrum when he was reminded of how he played 7 years ago, or maybe he got tired of it.
Finally he walks away, leaving the money. why? Because he does not want money, he has no plan. Not only thinking about tomorrow, just living day by day.
He is easily the best protagonist created by Rockstarbhas and the fact that many people still think his nonsense, they think he was anything but evil, and shows how good his character was written. Really a linear masterpiece.
The whole story is tragic. I can go on talking about what was an absolute fool that John Marston thought he had a chance to lead a normal life like Jim Milton near Blackwater, but that would be the subject of another discussion. (Taking the loan in the name of John Marston SMH).
Anyway, I’d like to hear your opinion on all this?
2020 will be something that will please both classic and modern players. To be eligible for the list, the game must be confirmed for 2020, or there must be a good reason to expect it to be released that year. Therefore, upcoming games will not be included with just an announcement and no noticeable release date.
2020 has a lot to look forward to … in the world of video games. Here are 15 games to look forward to in the first half of 2020.
